University of Mary Study Abroad - Summer (2016) Location: France Subjects - Philosophy and Theology This was an incredible experience where I learned about the French culture and gained knowledge, through hands-on experiences, in both philosophy and theology. This experience opened my eyes to the various lifestyles and beliefs of people all around us, as well as shaped my learning of different cultures. This experience also gave me a taste of what it is like to deal with challenges, such as dealing with language barriers and living in unfamiliar settings. I think by stepping out of my comfort zone and placing myself in an exciting, but sometimes uncomfortable environment, I am able to have a better understanding and teaching approach when working with EL learners.
